Aldata extends logistics domination in Europe

June 2006Aldata, a leading provider of software solutions for the global retail and logistics industries, has consolidated its position in the European logistics industry by winning 15 new customers in 2005, and 5 so far in 2006. In addition, several existing large customers have extended the G.O.L.D. solution to manage new sites, and implement new versions of G.O.L.D.

In Central Europe, there has been a successful roll out at Coop Normandie-Picardie's distribution centre in France. The opening of the Chemillé distribution centre provided Aldata with an opportunity to deploy G.O.L.D. Supply Chain management modules.

G.O.L.D. Central, G.O.L.D. Stock, Radio and Vocal, and G.O.L.D. Track modules were implemented for distribution centre management and merchandise traceability. The 10,000 m² distribution centre serves 34 hard discount stores that trade under the "Le Mutant" fascia in Pays de Loire. The G.O.L.D. solution will optimise logistics for all dry and fresh goods, through supply management, customer order processing, stock management and warehouse management.

G.OL.D. Stock has also been chosen for Odalis multi-user distribution centre. Following its installation in several Terrena warehouses, the G.O.L.D. Stock module was chosen to manage logistics for Odalis, a logistics provider situated in the west of France, which serves a number of different clients including In Vivo, Terrena and Cab 56, companies which market agro-chemical products.

Odalis chose Aldata to manage its 12,000 m² SEVESO 2 warehouse. G.O.L.D. Stock manages stock by order originator and by commercial catalogue, optimises picking locations, manages stock-handling on-line, on site and provides information which allows the services provided for other order originators to be billed.

This installation proves that G.O.L.D. is ideal for managing product flows and logistics in a true multi-user environment.

In addition, Casino, a major Aldata user, has further confirmed its trust in Aldata by taking the decision to migrate its warehouses to the new version of G.O.L.D. V5.03. At the end of 2005, five Casino warehouses were equipped with this new version. In April 2006, all dry goods warehouses products migrated to version 5.03.

New modules in V5.03, which have been welcomed by users, include, graphical activity supervision, task management and radio-frequency pre-shipment to facilitate the checking of pallets and loading.

Elsewhere in Europe, Aldata will supply its G.O.L.D. supply chain management software to three new customers - Box Solutions AS in Norway, Agravis Raiffeisen AG in Germany and Atoy Oy in Finland.

Box Solutions AS, a third party logistics company owned by the Norwegian Post, has decided to implement Aldata G.O.L.D. for the management of its logistics operations. The project consists of Aldata G.O.L.D. for warehouse operations, purchasing, order management and logistics. "By implementing G.O.L.D, we can expand into providing value-added services for our customers, such as purchasing, order management and web-shopping. With this new range of services we will attract both existing and new customers and significantly strengthen our position in the market. This was the main reason in selecting Aldata", said Erik Mørch, Managing Director at Box Solutions.

Agravis Raffeisen AG, a German agricultural retailer and service provider, will implement G.O.L.D. Stock, Radio and Pick for warehouse administration, mobile fork lift control and paperless picking and optimization of the picking zone. "With G.O.L.D. logistics solutions we will modernise our business processes, improve efficiency and usability and fulfil all the external requirements for managing a hazardous materials' warehouse", comments Torsten Oldhues, Head of Logistics at Agravis Raiffeisen AG.

Atoy Oy, a car parts and accessories importer as well as distributor for Finland, Sweden and Estonia, has decided to implement G.O.L.D. Vocal into all its warehouses. Atoy has over 80.000 SKUs in stock and will streamline its warehouse operations by reducing picking errors and improving the performance in its warehouses. "Aldata has a proven track record world wide as a reliable supplier of tested, business improving warehouse solutions. That Aldata also have strong local representation convinced us to choose Aldata as our preferred partner" says executive vice president of Atoy Oy, Jussi Eerikäinen.
