BMB Clothing renews MPLS network deal

The menswear retailer has signed a renewal of service for the continued support of its fully managed MPLS network

UK menswear company BMB Clothing, which boasts 170 concessions and 35 of its own stores, has renewed its contract with communications solution provider Vodat for the support of its fully managed Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network.

BMB, formally Baird Menswear Group, is the home of menswear brands such as 1 Like No OtherRacing Green, Suit Direct, Gibson London and Jeff Banks (pictured) and has been active in the menswear retail space for decades.

Three new circuits

The renewed relationship includes the installation of three new main circuits into the retailer’s office locations in Leeds, Goole and Hartlepool, including a new radio connection into Leeds.

These new services aim to offer improved capacity and performance, with fail over in the event of a main connection failure. Vodat has also provided additional capacity for a centrally managed internet breakout facility to improve internet access from the stores.

In-store iPads

“Since moving across to Vodat in 2009, we have benefitted from improved connectivity speeds and increased bandwidth,” explained Mark Keeble, IT support manager at BMB. “They have always worked with us to resolve any issues meaning in the fast paced retail world we operate in, we are not left alone.”

BMB is currently trialling the use of iPads in one of its stores, allowing customers to view the full product range online. Its future plans include the introduction of Wi-Fi to the entire store estate.
