Microsoft partners with vente-privee.com for the international launch of its new mobile operating system

The private shopping club, vente-privee.com has launched its Windows Phone 7 (WP7) application (available for download on Windows Marketplace).

Microsoft said it chose vente-privee.com, European sales events provider, to partner the international launch of its new Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system because of its innovation, appealing shopping universe and 11.5 million members. The vente-privee.com application, available in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK, will be among the first on offer.

This application, compatible with all smartphones, uses the Windows Phone 7 operating system. Members can access the all-essential website functions: browse the designer sales, make purchases and view previous orders.

vente-privee.com is keen to expand into the world of m-commerce with a business model that lends itself well to the mobile phone. Using their handset, members can access the flash sales (lasting between 2-4 days) whenever and wherever they want. The creative teams at vente-privee.com have worked to transfer the company spirit and values to the design specificities of a mobile handset. As on the website, most of the space is used to showcase the brands and their products.

Early adoption, big growth plans

By mid-2011, the website hopes to open applications on other mobile platforms in order to reach more than 75% of this market.

Nicolas Cosson, vente-privee.com marketing director, explained: “This application has above all been developed for our members in order to offer them as many options as possible. It’s also a response to the increasing number of mobile users. The main purpose of the Windows Phone 7 application is therefore not commercial.”

“vente-privee.com is a very important partner for Microsoft. Selecting the Microsoft platform has allowed them to develop their WP7 application in record time, using the same developers, tools and programming language used to create one of the world’s most successful e-commerce sites. The vente-privee.com application for Windows Phone is a huge success in terms of design and development and has been chosen by our Redmont teams for the international launch of Windows Phone 7,” added Julien Codorniou, development and partnerships director of Microsoft France.
