Sheffield themed bar and restaurant installs new audio system that responds to its environment

Viewfax Multimedia has installed a state of the art Bose sound system in the new TGI Friday’s themed diner in Meadowhall Sheffield.

The Bose system is designed to provide even sound coverage throughout a particularly challenging venue. As well as differing ceiling heights, it features a mix of large open seating areas right next to smaller enclosed spaces, and music volume is programmed to rise and fall at set times throughout the day and evening.

The solution is made up of the Bose ControlSpace ESP-88 audio management system with a CC64 control centre, which gives a flexible means of selecting input, controlling output and modifying the performance of the system to suit the venue’s requirements.

Full venue coverage and sound

Discreet Bose FreeSpace 3 satellite speakers with bass support in the main dining areas, plus Bose 151s at the edge of the venue and Bose FreeSpace DS16F flush-mount speakers in the toilets, give a rich, even sound coverage through the diner without causing unnecessary disturbance to passing shoppers or neighbouring stores. Music provision is via a KV hard drive, and Denon CD player, and the input can be easily switched via the CC64 control centre.

Stephen Bailey of Viewfax said he selected a Bose complete solution as it offers an extremely flexible and reliable means of control, combined with discreet speakers delivering high quality sound in a challenging environment.

Adam Campbell, TGI Friday’s property and development manager, commented: “I am more than happy with the installation of Bose in our restaurant in Meadowhall, it not only provides the quality and coverage I would expect, but also a richness of sound that enhances our guest's experience.”
