Shoe retailer targets UK market backed by a free returns service from fulfilment company using local convenience store network

Shoe retailer targets UK market backed by a free returns service from fulfilment company using local convenience store network

Zalando, the German online fashion and footwear retailer, has appointed Collect+ to manage its customer returns service.

The shoe and fashion store launched its UK site in April, and has chosen to partner with Collect+, which allows consumers to return items via local convenience stores, rather than rely on courier collection or queuing at the Post Office.

Customers wishing to return Zalando goods will be able to do so free of charge via their nearest Collect+ store.

Ensuring customer convenience

According to the fulfilment company 80% of the UK urban population already living within a mile of a Collect+ store, and all of the outlets open from early until late and most for seven days a week. So the returns service offers customers convenience; a benefit which greatly appealed to the retailer, as Zalando prides itself on offering a ‘simple’ shopping experience.

In addition, just as Zalando enables customers to track their orders throughout the delivery process, the Collect+ service allows those customers to track all returns on their way back.

Mark Lewis, chief executive of Collect+, commented: “As a new service ourselves, we understand Zalando’s desire to make a good impression on their new UK customers, and we look forward to helping them achieve that by providing the best service possible.’

Launched in 2009, the Collect+ service offers returns and deliveries through Yodel, the UK parcel delivery company and participating shops within the PayPoint network.
