State-of-the-art headsets enable retail staff to deliver top customer service in the busiest shoe department in Europe

State-of-the-art headsets enable retail staff to deliver top customer service in the busiest shoe department in Europe

Kurt Geiger has equipped its customer sales advisers in Gallery One of the iconic Selfridges shoe gallery with lightweight wireless digital headsets.

The handsfree systems allow instant communication between all team members, whether on the shopfloor, office or stockroom area.

The use of the headsets has already shown a rise in efficiency and quality of customer service, as chief executive of the system’s manufacturer Quail Digital, Tom Downes, explained: “The Shoe Gallery in Selfridges is a very busy retail environment. Headsets improve the speed and efficiency of communication between staff, primarily sales floor to stock room, and that adds real value to the quality of the customer experience. The Shoe Gallery is ideal for our lightweight headsets.”

Aiding responsive service levels

Instant, seamless and unobtrusive communication between sales advisers means that a customer enquiry can be acted on immediately, the availability of an item checked and the delivery of the item to the shop floor handled in a matter of moments.

Advisers can remain engaged with their customers without having to use an intercom or a phone to locate assistance.

“Staff are enjoying using the headsets because it means they are in touch with their whole team and can alert any or all of them to any issue they may be facing and ask for support if necessary, “ Downes added. “Obviously this also has great benefits for staff security and as they are visible headsets, they are a strong deterrent to retail theft.”

Quail Digital is a specialist manufacturer of headset communications systems for retailers. Its new lightweight wireless headset system gives simple communication to staff throughout a store on the licence-free DECT 1.8 GHz band.

The system was supplied and installed by Intrepid Security.
