Mothercare extends use of Torex merchandise planning for global channel merchandising programme

The UK specialist retailer for mums to be and parents of young children, Mothercare has announced an extension of its partnership with technology provider to the extended retail marketplace, Torex.

Using Torex Merchandise Planning, the retailer will realise the potential of further global expansion.

Having achieved significant growth over the last few years in international markets including Russia, India and China, Mothercare need to plan for the long term to ensure its manufacturing partners can continue to support this rapid growth.

Building on pre-planning sucesses

The retailer chose the Torex Merchandise Planning to model its global expansion over the next three to five years and provide detailed information to pass on to its manufacturing partners to plan future capacity. Building on the successful implementation of pre-season planning functionality, Mothercare want to introduce additional capabilities of the solution.

Implementing the full Torex merchandise planning solution will improve the merchandising process for Mothercare and The Early Learning Centre by replacing a number of legacy systems.

It will enable the retailer to accurately plan long-term capacity, ensuring that manufacturers can support forecast growth, which in turn will allow Mothercare to provide a consistent product range across all of its channels and international franchises.
