Swedish hardware retailer adopts new till software to manage international sales

 

Clas Ohlson, has appointed retail IT service supplier PCMS to provide its electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) system across the retailer’s Scandinavian and British estate.

 

PCMS will roll out its Vision BeanStore PoS system across Clas Ohlson’s 150 stores in the UK, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

 

With continued growth planned, a more robust and reliable PoS system was required to facilitate pan-European operations and enable improved reporting to its Swedish head office. In addition to these requirements, the provider said Vision BeanStore also offered Clas Ohlson faster transaction times and improved promotions functionality, as well as a long term IT partnership.

 

Supporting strategy for rapid growth

 

Magnus Söderberg, chief information officer at Clas Ohlson, commented: “With a rapid growth strategy, it was important that we had in place an EPoS system that could perform across many different languages and currencies and provide the widespread functionality that we needed. Vision BeanStore was the system proven to offer all the elements and our research into the market showed that PCMS had the experience and capability to deliver what we wanted – and more.”

 

PCMS is accustomed to providing multiple language, currency and card processing functionality that works consistently across a number of different countries and feeds into one central system. As part of the contract, PCMS will also implement its Vision Estate Manager – a centralised management system that detects functional and technical issues across the retail estate and assists with impact analysis, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
