Deal with The Cloud introduces wireless internet access to the UK restaurant chain

Deal with The Cloud introduces wireless internet access to the UK restaurant chain

Wagamama has signed a deal to deploy free wireless internet access to customers with UK provider of free public access Wi-Fi, The Cloud.

Under the terms of partnership The Cloud's Wi-Fi will be installed at almost all of Wagamama’s 73 restaurants across the UK. The Japanese inspired restaurant chain also plans to install The Cloud Wi-Fi in all future sites when they open.

The Wi-Fi will be freely available to customers in restaurants after registration and Wagamama will promote the service with instore marketing.

Responding to customer demand

Ingrid Williams, director of marketing at Wagamama, said: “Free Wi-Fi is another service we can offer our customers to keep them happy and entertained when they’re in our restaurants.

“Our philosophy is about positive living as much as positive eating, so anything that improves the experience for our customers is important to us. A number of our restaurants are in below-ground locations, where the 3G signal is unreliable at best and often non-existent, which means fast, reliable Wi-Fi is even more vital.”

Vince Russell, managing director of The Cloud, said: “Lots of high street outlets now recognise the importance of providing their customers with a quick, reliable internet connection so they can use data-hungry services like apps when they’re out and about. Consumers are increasingly demanding ‘always on’ access to mobile entertainment and communications. The Cloud’s state-of-the-art network therefore delivers real benefits to our partners and their customers.”
