Best practice mobile-optimised website delivers full integration with retailerÂ’s e-commerce systems

Best practice mobile-optimised website delivers full integration with retailer’s e-commerce systems

Lakeland, known as the ‘creative kitchenware company,’ has launched a new mobile commerce (m-commerce) website with implementation partner, Javelin Group.

The retailer engaged the European e-commerce consultancy and systems integrator, which designed and developed its existing transactional site, to design and deliver a best practice mobile-optimised site that offers customers an excellent user experience.

Consistent user experience

The new mobile-optimised website is fully integrated into Lakeland’s base e-commerce platform, so offering all of the functionality found on Lakeland’s desktop website. This includes the same search and browse, segmentations, promotions and product information and reviews capabilities.

The site also offers a shared basket with the desktop website and a mobile-optimised checkout. Using the same technology to drive both the desktop and mobile site enables rapid and synchronised roll out of new functionality, products and marketing content across the two channels.

Integrated e-commerce management

This work enables the mobile-optimised website to offer a consistently good user experience for customers across all computing devices and a common set of tools for business users across the two channels.

Tony Preedy, Lakeland marketing director, said: “We are extremely proud of our new mobile commerce website and the exceptional user experience it offers our customers. Javelin Group has again successfully delivered a challenging project, and it was a pleasure to work with the team.”
