Supports 62% growth in second-quarter sales the affiliate marketing services owned by Rakuten

In addition to signing new advertisers including Clarins and The Body Shop, LinkShare recently reported strong same-store sales in the UK.

In the UK, while retail sales between April and May increased by just 1.77% according to figures released by the ONS, the affiliate UK’s network acquired by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten in 2005, saw huge growth with overall same-store sales increasing 65% year-over-year.

Significant commission opportunities

It said the newly signed brands represent significant commission opportunities for publishers across a broad range of product categories including apparel, luxury, electronics and other consumer goods.

“Joining the Rakuten LinkShare network was a strategic decision as we seek to expand our online presence and drive more sales through the affiliate channel,” said Heledd Thomas, Clarins UK digital marketing manager.

“As we gear up for what we believe will be another record-breaking holiday season, we’re confident our presence in the Rakuten LinkShare network will be critical to our ability to exceed expectations.”

The Body Shop also recently added videos to its affiliate dashboard so affiliate marketers can enahnce their websites featuring product content directly from the beauty retailer.
