EasyRMS, now an Infor company, strengthens partnership with Guoman Hotel Management Group

The Kingsley by Thistle has become the latest property in the Guoman & Thistle Hotel Group to implement the revenue management system (RMS) product suite, EzRMS, after its developer was recently acquired by Infor.

Located in Bloomsbury, in the heart of central London, The Kingsley (formerly Thistle Bloomsbury) hotel near Covent Garden, the British Museum and Oxford Street, is a four-star hotel offering 129 bedrooms.

Automating manual processes

Prior to the implementation, the hotel did not have any revenue management systems. Claire Castro, Guoman & Thistle Hotels head of pricing, said: “Our main challenge was around our manual forecasting processes and how the high level of uncertainty in our manual forecasts meant that we were not 100% confident in our pricing decisions.

“The process of setting rates and availability was also highly manual and therefore time consuming. Speed of execution has been a real challenge for us. We chose EasyRMS as we considered it to be the most highly developed solution – EasyRMS spent a great deal of time with us and really gave us confidence that they understood our requirements. We were looking for an evolving partnership with our supplier and felt that EasyRMS would be the most suitable for our future development needs.”

Extending benefits to market segments

She added: “Naturally our main objective is to achieve RevPAR [revenue per available room] and RGI [revenue growth index] gains. However, we are now really looking to begin streamlining our processes in terms of automating our forecasting and yearly budgeting. Our focus for phase two of our project is to really drive the use of the Ez-CONTRACT and Ez-QUOTE modules through the business, giving us confidence that we are making sound pricing decisions in all our different market segments.”

EasyRMS, a provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenue and yield management products to the global hotel industry, was acquired by enterprise software applications and services provider Infor in June of this year.
