Mobile app for Android and iPhone offers savings on Bavaria beers in 24,000 UK convenience stores

Mobile app for Android and iPhone offers savings on Bavaria beers in 24,000 UK convenience stores

Independent Dutch brewer Bavaria, a seventh generation family-owned brewery in Holland, is partnering with mobile app Shop Scan Save, to bring its range of quality beers to UK convenience stores and offer savings across the entire range.

With its free app loaded onto a smartphone, Shop Scan Save users can save money on hundreds of branded products, which now include Bavaria’s lager, lager shandy and alcohol-free beers. Offers across Bavaria’s range will start with the app from October and will initially run until May 2013.

Actively rewarding loyalty

David Parkinson, Bavaria UK trade marketing manager, said: “Our aim in the coming year is to substantially build Bavaria’s presence across convenience retail with our range of great tasting and high quality beers, which are made from natural mineral water from brewery wells, and barley that has been malted in-house.

“Shop Scan Save gives us a unique way of supporting our retail partners and actively rewarding new and existing consumers from launch.”

Convenience redemption network

Shop Scan Save gives smartphone owners access to money-saving offers that can be redeemed by scanning the app in more than 24,000 independent stores including Spar, Co-op, Costcutter, Londis, Nisa, One Stop and other independent retailers. The app includes a store finder, which shows the location of the nearest of these PayPoint supporting stores (May/June 2012 Retail Technology magazine, p21).

Re-launched as an app by customer engagement technology developer Mobilize Systems in 2012, Shop Scan Save has 25,000 members and in the past month alone has added 10,000 members.

The Bavaria offers will be available to all users aged over 18 years old.
