Herriot Hospice Homecare sources EPoS and Gift Aid processing from Kudos Software

 

Herriot Hospice Homecare is opening its first charity shop in this month and Kudos Software has been selected to provide the electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) system to manage transactions, day-end and period-end financials and importantly Gift Aid processing.

 

Herriot Hospice Homecare is a registered charity based in Northallerton, serving patients with life limiting illness throughout the areas of Hambleton & Richmondshire.

 

Multifunction till software system

 

The EPoS charity specialist has provided Herriot Hospice Homecare with a system that is designed to be cost and space-effective, combined within a single point-of-sale terminal that is also used for store management and reporting functions as well as Gift Aid processing.

 

Using the Kudos software, retail Gift Aid collection requires that donors only need to register for Gift Aid at the shop once for confirmation letters or emails to be administered.

 

The hospice is looking to reduce reconciliation time and use automatic management reporting. And customer relationship management (CRM) integration makes talking to donors and customers easy, while the accounting interface eliminates the duplication of data entry.

 

Kathryn Harrison, fundraising manager for Herriot Hospice Homecare, chose Kudos Software based on how easy it is to use and to administer Gift Aid.

 

Interface, functionality and service

 

“Choosing the right solution for our first venture into charity retail was essential,” she said. “Our volunteers may have never worked in retail before, so an easy-to-use till was high up on our list of criteria. With the initial investment the charity is making we also needed to ensure that all income is maximised from the store; including Gift Aid. Automatic 21-day email or letter templates and the accounting interface mean that we will be able to collect Gift Aid swiftly and smoothly.”

 

Kudos said it is working closely with the store to ensure efficient implementation and ongoing support through its standard Kudos Implementation Method (KIMS) structure to ensure effective new customer implementation and support and a single point of client contact.
