One of the largest multimedia retailers in the world is taking a process optimisation approach to achieving supply chain efficiency

QVC has selected solutions from the Manhattan Associates’ SCOPE supply chain process platform to help optimise its supply chain network.

QV, which has shipped more than 1 billion packages in the US alone over the past 23 years chose the vendor’s warehouse management and labour management solutions for its distribution centre (DC) in Florence, South Carolina, with plans to roll out in its other domestic DCs in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Virginia.

Crucial, central strategic role

“Manhattan Associates will play a key role in our continuing IT transformation,” said John Sullivan, QVC executive vice president and chief information officer. “Streamlining our distribution processes with the Manhattan platform will enable QVC to expand its distribution capacity and reach new fulfilment levels across every selling channel.”

Manhattan said its Warehouse Management and Labour Management solutions are part of the Distribution Management solution suite within the Manhattan SCOPE supply chain process platform, designed to use the spectrum of people, tasks and events across the supply chain for the most efficient and accurate performance possible. SCOPE's modular service-oriented architecture (SOA) facilitates the creation of cross-suite applications to address specific requirements for the goals of each Manhattan customer, according to the provider.
