Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technology is part of a transformation of the British multinational retailer’s general merchandise business

To support its international expansion, British multinational clothing, home and food department store retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) is implementing Product lifecycle Management (PLM) to general merchandise product development across the company.

The retailer will be using PTC’s Retail PLM solution, PTC Windchill FlexPLM, to fulfill enterprise its PLM requirements and support a four-year transformation process within its general merchandise business.

As a global brand with more than 1,000 stores in over 40 countries, M&S recently unveiled plans for further international expansion which includes the opening of 250 new stores, the growth of its food business and the increase of its franchise operations.

In April this year, the retailer said it would be extending the current licensing of its enterprise collaboration platform from software provider Concrete across its international store estate, in order to support its international expansion plans.
