Infor drives faster processes and better data handling for financial consolidation and clearer business intelligence across 40-plus sites

Infor drives faster processes and better data handling for financial consolidation and clearer business intelligence across 40-plus sites

Infor, a provider of business software for mid-market customers, today announced that prestige car dealership Jardine Motors Group UK has chosen Infor PM 10 for its performance management (PM) and business intelligence needs.

Jardine Motors, which represents premium brands such as Mercedes Benz, BMW/Mini, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Bentley, will use the software to improve its budgeting, consolidation and financial and operational reporting for 19 franchises spread across more than 40 sites. Previously these processes predominantly used spreadsheets, which led to significant delays when manually consolidated and this meant decision making was often out-of-date.

More efficient, integrated processes

“We expect our financial processes to take a lot less time as we move over to Infor PM 10. We estimate significant labour savings are achievable at each site, particularly from our integrated budget and forecasting models. When you add that up across our group, it soon becomes a lot of extra productivity,” explains John Marazzi, group financial controller of Jardine Motors Group UK.

The first stage of the project has been budgeting, with the 2010-12 cycle now completed. A project team comprising IT and finance representatives from Jardine Motors, together with an Infor project manager, delivered the first phase on target and on budget. The next stage is to deliver enhanced group consolidation with fully integrated budget and actual figures. Users will then have access to high quality management information.

“We also demand high quality business intelligence so we invested in Infor PM Application Studio for financial and operational reporting, and this has already given us a valuable insight into our business. Application Studio lets you quickly gather information and share knowledge throughout your organisation. We envisage that the charts and diagrams will be widely used by general managers outside the accounting and finance functions. This is a welcome and early return on investment that suggests a strong future for improved decision making,” concluded Marazzi.
