Facebook tests virtual assistant integration

By Retail Technology | Monday April 24 2017

Social media behemoth Facebook is testing how its M virtual assistant integrates with third-party apps

The test – revealed at the F8 Developers Conference - is starting with online restaurant ordering service Delivery.com and will see Facebook Messenger users chatting with others about food or ordering from a restaurant to see an interface within that chat that allows them to order through Delivery.com

As the assistant learns more about user preferences it will then provide more relevant suggestions.

The test is taking place in 40 US cities where Delivery.com is available.
