ChinaÂ’s Store of the future (on wheels)

By Retail Technology | Friday June 16 2017

A new mobile convenience store has launched in China with no staff, drone delivery and a hologram as a sales assistant

The remarkable self-driving shop on wheels is called Moby Mart and runs on solar power.

Customers merely scan the goods they want themselves and purchase their shopping without any human interaction. The store can even be summoned to customers’ area via an app.

It is open to the public 24 hours a day and includes automatic restocking of goods.

Moby Mart - developed by Swedish company Wheelys in cooperation with Hefei University and Himalfy – is currently travelling China in demo mode.
