Wayfair launches photo search

By Retail Technology | Monday November 13 2017

Home furnishing store Wayfair has launched artificial intelligence-enabled Search with Photo in Europe

The new feature makes it easier for shoppers to find the furnishing they are looking for by taking a photo which is then matched to visually similar items in Wayfair’s selection of more than 8 million products.

This is done by tapping the camera icon in the website search bar, which allows them to take an image or upload one from their photo library.

Steve Conine, co-founder and co-chairman of Wayfair, said: “While finding a look you love may be easy, finding the specific products to bring that look to life can be time consuming and require a lot of searching. With visual search, shoppers can now search for and find a particular product or style instantly."
