High-street retailer includes ‘build-the-look’ function and high-quality imagery to take site to the next level

UK fashion value retailer, Peacocks, announced the launch of their new e-commerce site late last week, designed by GSI Commerce, the global full service e-commerce provider.

Peacocks’ existing e-commerce platform has been active since 2007, delivering competitive sales figures in the UK, however the company has decided to invest in its online activity to further increase revenues. The new online store includes extended product ranges, such as childrenswear and baby wear. It also introduces new functional features to create an enhanced shopping experience, while the whole look and feel of the website reflects the company’s trend-conscious image.

Look, feel and functional overhaul

The aesthetic feel of the site was designed to translate the brand’s offline image and shopping experience into a fun and sleek new shopping concept. Fundamental to all fashion e-commerce sites, investment was made to insure the visual presentation of the products were top quality with higher resolution images and more powerful zoom functions; allowing the products to really come alive for consumers.

One of the new features includes the ‘build-the-look’ application, where consumers can play around with different looks, mixing and matching different combinations of products together. The ‘build-the-look’ application then totals the price of each of these combinations, meaning the consumer can stay within budget, stress free, and then click on ‘purchase’ to buy the whole outfit or any mix of products included in the outfit.
