The new FVP10 front-loading thermal printer from Star Micronics offers multiple functions and features

 

DED has announced the launch of the new FVP10 from Star Micronics, an industry first front operation, multi-functional printer with a range of new features.

 

With no compromise between functionality, cost and innovation, the printer maker said the FVP10 printer offers versatile, high-speed performance, paper saving features and a new method of user and printer interaction, with a voice communication tool.

 

 

Offering perfectly square dimensions and an under counter mounting bracket, the FVP10 can be integrated into a hospitality, retail or even kiosk environments, while eliability and durability in hospitality applications is assured thanks to its splash proof XP1 certified design and downwards angled paper path.

 

Form plus speech function

 

Standard print features include a new pull-out drawer with drop-in paper loading, 250mm per second print speed and 203 dpi print resolution. The FVP10 can accommodate paper, tickets and labels from 0.065mm to 0.15mm thick and between 58mm and 80mm wide.

 

The new FVP10 offers a unique speech/voice function, which is designed to allow up to 255 voice commands/messages to be stored and used to notify the user with information such as “new food order” or “paper low”. Messages can be recorded in any language and can be linked to keywords in the receipt itself to highlight such items as “priority order”. In environments where the internal speaker is not loud enough, an external speaker can be connected via an audio jack socket on the printer.

 

Interfaces options include USB, PoweredUSB, RS232C Serial, Centronics Parallel & Ethernet. Drivers for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux CUPS, Mac OS X, Java-POS & OPOS are all available.
