French cosmetics company, Sisley signs up for new logistics operations

French cosmetics company, Sisley signs up for new logistics operations

Savoye, a logistics software and warehouse equipment solution providers, will equip cosmetics company Sisley’s new mechanised logistic site in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, France.

Sisley is leaving its current premises in northern Paris for Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, to the north west of the capital. Early in 2011, the French company, top-of-the-range cosmetics manufacturer, will move into new premises on a 13-hectare site in the Béthunes business park. The site will bring together administrative services, as well as its logistic centres and research and development (R&D) in a 45,000-square-foot building.

Pulling warehouse components together

The consultancy firm, ELCIMAÏ, which Sisley appointed for the project and design of the entire logistic process, called for tenders and the follow-up of the implementation, assisted the luxury cosmetics specialist throughout the consultation process. This approach resulted in the choice of Savoye. The latter will ensure the implementation of the mechanised solutions: split case and full case preparation line, an automatic launching station, three labellers, weight checking, crosswise strapping and automatic sorting systems, which allow loads to be made up for delivery all over the world, to 90 countries. The site will be equipped with Savoye’s packaging line, PAC 600 machines, including a box erector, two tunnels and two lidding machines.

The new facility will have the capacity to prepare 1,500 split case boxes and sort 1,700 boxes per hour, all managed by Savoye’s bespoke warehouse control system (WCS), with the warehouse management system (WMS) provided by SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP). The installation will be operational in January 2011.
