Businesses across the retail sector have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to charity

Hovis, Kimberly-Clark and The Co-operative Group have all been shortlisted for the first Business Charity Awards, which will recognise the value that businesses make to the third sector in the UK.

The finalists will find out whether or not they have been successful in a prestigious black tie dinner in London on 30 June.

The awards have been launched by Third Sector magazine and the Institute of Fundraising with Mandate Communications, as the headline sponsor.

Showcasing work beyond retail

They are designed to recognise companies that have shown leadership and innovation in forging relationships with the voluntary sector ranging from conventional partnerships and challenge events to innovative projects, such as employee engagement and social investment.

Stephen Cook, editor of Third Sector, said: “These businesses have made a real difference with their innovative and effective charitable work.

“It will be fascinating to see who our judges choose to take home the awards at the end of what will be an exciting and enjoyable evening.”

The event organisers said more details about the awards ceremony will be announced shortly.
