Retail chain is to implement new workforce management systems across 26 of its Italian hypermarket sites

Iper Montebello, the Italian chain of hypermarkets and shopping centres, has selected the workforce management (WFM) software solution InVision Enterprise WFM (iWFM) to schedule its workforce according to its actual employment requirements.

The InVision Software system will be implemented in the 26 Italian “Iper, la grande I” hypermarkets by the end of 2010 for the demand-oriented scheduling of about 1.400 employees.

This important client acquisition is the result of a close cooperation between InVision Software and Engineering.it, who will provide the consulting services for implementing the solution. The iWFM system will replace the former planning software that was no longer able to manage the retailer’s complex checkout processes.

Full overhaul of staffing processes

The Italian retail company has decided to implement all modules of InVision’s employee scheduling software to cover the entire workforce management process – from demand-oriented forecasting to scheduling, optimisation, monitoring and finally managing schedules. Using InVision's comprehensive system, Iper Montebello intends to match the deployment of its employees with actual customer footfall and thus to improve customer service, while avoiding over and under-staffing.

Iper Montebello selected the InVision Enterprise WFM system after a comprehensive evaluation process which included a number of scheduling and performance challenges: “We have thoroughly analysed the software’s functions and were finally convinced by the flexibility of its user-friendly design and the depth of functionality. Combined with Engineering’s project implementation experience as a system integrator, iWFM is the ideal solution to enable us to implement our personnel work schedule planning system,” said Valerio Cortese, IT director at Iper Montebello.
