Discount e-tailer takes on Peerius to personalise offers and increase conversions

 

Peerius, the recommendation technology specialist, has signed up UK online discount retailer, MandMDirect.com, following a trial that reported an immediate revenue uplift of 8% after just one week of serving live recommendations.

 

MandMDirect.com sells a range of top brands such as Nike, Timberland, Miss Sixty and Berghaus through its website, which offers up to 75% off UK recommended retailer prices.

 

The Peerius recommendation engine is being used to generate personalised product recommendations that are individual to each MandMDirect.com customer.

 

Intelligent online marketing tool

 

It builds individual profiles for each shopper using a combination of shopper preferences, the attributes of the products they look at and their browsing behaviour historically and within each current shopping session. After a three-week period, 16% of MandMDirect.com orders now contain a recommended product.

 

Neil Sansom, marketing director at MandMDirect.com, commented: “In addition to experiencing an immediate uplift in order value, one of the hidden benefits of using Peerius’s recommendation engine is that MandMDirect.com will no longer need to manually serve cross-sells and up-sells, saving significantly on staff time and resources.”

 

Roger Brown, chief executive of Peerius, added: “We expect the impact of our recommendation engine to continue to grow as customer traffic and feedback is gathered and optimised. Our experience shows that our software regularly increases order value by up to 22% and conversion rates by up to 40%.”

 

MandMDirect.com operates across Europe and it is anticipated that Peerius’s recommendation engine will be rolled out to the organisation’s international sites in the near future.
