Partners to bring PoS solution to market specifically designed for the hospitality market
Torex has announced the launch of a new point-of-sale (PoS) system for hospitality, developed in partnership with hardware specialists, Toshiba Tec Corporation.
The Torex WILLPOS A12 builds on Toshiba Tec’s existing WILLPOS A10. New design modifications include a lowered embedded screen and a tilting screen for visibility. The amount of memory available for the product has also been increased to allow software applications to be added to the system as required.
A ruggedised design, with a sealed touch screen, is intended to withstand the spillages and knocks which this technology is likely to be exposed to within hospitality environments.
The partners also said it has an ultra-small footprint that incorporates a wide range of features to ease maintenance with click-on access to its outer casing and components.
Listening to hospitality needs

The companies said the system has already been deployed by one of the world’s largest ferry companies, Stena Line. Anders Claesson, IT demand manger for Stena Line onboard services said: “It is great that Torex and Toshiba Tec have paid so much attention to the practical needs of those who will operate this technology. Our staff really appreciate the large, clear screen with its adjustable angle and optimum height level. They have also commented on the fact that it is more reliable and faster when carrying out transactions than our previous system.”
