Rolls out secure credit and debit card payment solution across Channel Island stores

Rolls out secure credit and debit card payment solution across Channel Island stores

Channel Island retailer, SandpiperCI has selected independent payment solution provider, Anderson Zaks for its RedCard managed service payment solution.

The system will enable customers to buy goods using a secure chip and PIN debit or credit card at SandpiperCI’s food and drink stores, Checkers Express/Island Shopper and Wine Warehouse.

Sandpiper CI operates 28 stores across Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney, as well as owning franchise businesses trading under the Marks and Spencer, Iceland, Costa Coffee, Robert Dyas and Pasty Presto brands.

Hosted offering speeds delivery

The RedCard solution is hosted by Anderson Zaks and is compliant with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) requirements and will be used across a total of 38 stores by the end of the year.

According to Alastair Wild, head of IT at SandPiperCI, said: “Having worked with Anderson Zaks on other major commercial projects, we selected them to convert our stores to the RedCard solution, to replace our existing non-PCI compliant legacy system.

“Anderson Zak’s managed services solution is a much more secure, efficient way for us to process card transactions. Thanks to the expertise of Anderson Zaks and In-Tech Solutions we were able to deploy the solution across our stores and be up and running very quickly, with no disruption to business. The fact that Anderson Zaks is a level 1 service provider and certified PCI DSS compliant has also helped us to cut non-compliance charges from the banks and lower our operating costs.”

Partnership provides expertise

In-tech Solutions UK Ltd, a UK solution provider, integrated the electronic funds transfer at point of sale (EFTPOS) element in the EPoS solution across the stores. It enables customers to pay by credit and debit cards, as well as withdraw cash when purchasing items.

Chris James, managing director at In-Tech Solutions, commented: “Anderson Zak’s RedCard payment software is our preferred solution for our customers. The RedCard system provides a comprehensive and yet flexible solution that is easy to integrate with the rest of the retail infrastructure.”

Adina Ahmed, operations director at Anderson Zaks, added: “All retailers, from corner shops to multi-national organisations and retailers, have a requirement to ensure that customers can pay with secure, reliable electronic transaction processes. Working with In-Tech solutions we were able to roll out the RedCard software across SandpiperCI’s retail outlets in the Channel islands to support all card payment processing securely and reduce their transaction costs.”
