Original Factory Shop upgrades Retail-J

Department store operator strengthens its relationship with UK retail software and services provider, Sanderson

 

The Original Factory Shop Ltd has upgraded to the Retail-J system, provided by Sanderson, which is now live across their entire UK estate.

 

The retailer operates 147 department stores across the UK offering a wide range of discounted merchandise; from flat screen TVs to suntan lotion. Targeting smaller communities typically untouched by traditional department stores, The Original Factory Shop has big expansion plans.

 

Having partnered with Sanderson for their retail management solution for over 10 years, Sanderson said it was the first port of call when the business began reviewing their requirements for a contemporary electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) solution, capable of meeting their ambitious growth plans. After a thorough market review Retail-J was chosen – and building on the existing relationship, Sanderson was selected as the best company to implement and support the new solution.

 

Building on existing success

 

Retail-J is already providing a host of improvements to The Original Factory Shop’s operations. The innovative and comprehensive promotional capabilities are increasing sales opportunities and transaction times have decreased – leading to improved customer service. Sales data is now sent from the EPoS to head office, providing management with the ability to review and react quickly to sales trends to maximise profitability.

 

Kevin McDade, IT manager at The Original Factory Shop Ltd, commented: “We reviewed a number of alternative offerings before deciding on Retail-J.
