tatty-teddyNew iPhone app leads Tatty Teddy e-card deal

Mobile content company, InfoMedia Services has completed an agreement with Carte Blanche Greetings, creators and owners of the Me to You ‘Tatty Teddy’ brand, to deliver mobile content and a new Card Sender Application for the iPhone platform, in a deal brokered by AT New Media.

The Me to You Card Sender is the first in a new series of apps to be launched that the mobile firm said would cater for all major card-giving occasions in the calendar. These will include 10 favourite Me to You e-cards that users will be able to send as many times as they wish.

A “trial” version will be released to give users the chance to try the product for free before they purchase the premium, fully functional version. Updates for the app will add new features and there are plans to develop for other platforms such as Google’s Android.

Under the agreement, InfoMedia will also distribute static and animated Me to You content such as wallpapers, screensavers and themes to UK mobile operators.

Taking on strategic mobile investment

Jocasta Kelsey, Carte Blanche Greetings marketing manager, said: ‘The Me to You Card Sending app is a way of sending a beautifully illustrated card when you’re on the move, while still communicating love and friendship. Indeed Tatty Teddy is the perfect character to seize the moment and show someone you care. We’re delighted to be taking Tatty Teddy mobile, and we look forward to an exciting partnership with InfoMedia as we continue to build our brand through leading-edge technologies.”

Michael Tomlins, InfoMedia Services managing director, said: “We predict that sending e-cards will continue to grow and become absorbed into modern communication. As handset functionality and network capabilities continue to evolve, the ability to customise these cards, making them more personal, will only increase.

“As a result, mobile apps like the Me to You Card Sender will capitalise on impulse moments and to extend the reach of brands beyond the high street or desktop. The potential new incremental revenue streams this opens up are really exciting.”

Simon Kay, AT New Media business development manager, added: “Carte Blanche Greetings has been a fantastic example of how to engage our company as a specialist rights licensing agency, assisting Carte Blanche to realise the potential of Me To You in the ever-expanding interactive media applications market.

“This project is the first of many under development, which will bring Tatty Teddy into the age of connected interactivity. Carte Blanche has taken a proactive, strategic licensing approach to the digital media market.”
