New discount voucher activity shows an increased appetite for bargain hunting as Brits look to beat the VAT increase

New discount voucher activity shows an increased appetite for bargain hunting as Brits look to beat the VAT increase

Search engine Twenga has revealed that Brits may have found their own way to answer the value-added tax (VAT) increase: searches for vouchers have increased by 180% for the month of December 2010.

Making every penny count

With the VAT increase and people now trying to make the most of their disposable income, the search engine said its results show that the discount culture may become even more popular in the coming weeks and months.

Twenga added that it currently offers more than 315 voucher codes available from 170 shops.
