Phones 4u selects new store applications to drive initiatives around store performance and support business growth

Phones 4u recently announced it had selected Oracle Retail stores applications to drive initiatives around store performance and support its growing business across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Since 1996, Phones 4u, part of the 4u Group, has expanded throughout the region and now operates a network of over 450 stores and an award-winning website focusing on providing excellence in customer service and a differentiated store experience.

As an existing Oracle customer seeking to lower integration costs, Phones 4u recognised the benefts of using Oracle Retail applications with its existing Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Siebel CRM and Oracle Database footprint.

The implementation of Oracle Retail Point-of-Service, Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management, Oracle Retail Central Office and Oracle Retail Back Office is expected to provide a scalable and flexible architecture to support company expansion through the development of best practice processes, while maintaining a consistent shopping experience across its retail channels.

The mobile retailer expects to first implement Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management prior to rolling out Oracle Retail Point-of-Service across its entire store network next year. And it plans to use the Oracle Retail applications to help manage critical store operations, access accurate data in real-time and drive reporting capabilities to enhance communication between stores and the head office. At the same time, it expects the deployment to help the company lower inventory levels, drive additional store revenue through increased up-sell opportunities and improve the tracking of offers in-store.

“As we grow, we require systems that will help us to develop a more intimate understanding of our customers within each store,” said Steve Johnson, 4u Group IT strategy and architecture director. “We expect the insight embedded within the Oracle Retail applications to provide greater visibility and intelligence to drive the decision-making process and enhance our performance.”

“The integrated capabilities of the Oracle Retail applications will help provide the insight and agility that Phones 4u requires to develop its business in a highly competitive market, while also remaining focused on delivering measurable value and supporting its long-term growth strategy,” added Patrick Bohannon, vice president of retail telecommunications at Oracle.
