Beauty retailer to re-platform and integrate e-commerce operations with hybris and Portaltech

Luxury beauty retailer SPACE.NK.apothecary has chosen e-commerce vendors hybris and Portaltech to re-platform and integrate e-commerce operations in preparation for international expansion.

SPACE.NK.apothecary was founded by Nicky Kinnaird in 1993, when she launched her first store in Covent Garden, with an ambition to offer a carefully edited selection of high quality, original and effective beauty products from innovators and specialists around the world. Since then, the passion for beauty has continued and the brand has grown to encompass 78 stores and concessions in the UK and US, as well as a thriving online business. The retailer who also owns the Eve Lom Skin Care brand has plans to grow their business significantly online over the next five years, both in the UK and internationally.

Strategic project key to growth

This strategic project, will take advantage of the hybris multichannel platform for Product Content Management, B2C Commerce and Mobile, while using Portaltech’s QuickLive project accelerator for a rapid rollout of internationalised, multi-brand sites.

Lauri Vela, chief marketing officer for SPACE.NK.apothecary, explained: “Following a rigorous review process, we selected Portaltech because they provided us with a flexible and robust multi channel solution based on the hybris platform, that will enable us to have greater control over our product and content management and multichannel merchandising. We have been impressed by Portaltech’s approach and we look forward to a long term business partnership.”

The new SPACE.NK.apothecary site is due to launch in the summer of 2011.
