Cereal producer chooses web3 to drive efficiencies and collaboration across the supply chain

Cereal producer chooses web3 to drive efficiencies and collaboration across the supply chain

Weetabix is implementing an integrated purchase-to-pay system from Wax Digital that will impose control and compliance and streamline processes across the company’s purchasing activities.

Wax Digital’s web3 delivers software-as-a-service (SaaS) based e-procurement software that will integrate with Weetabix’s finance system as part of a wider procurement transformation process that is being undertaken by the cereal manufacturer, which is owned by private equity group Lion Capital.

The implementation includes both production and indirect goods and services, and around 400 users and 1,100 suppliers will be migrated onto the system.

Honing in on procurement efficiency and spend

According to its provider, web3’s robust architecture and easy-to-use interface will provide Weetabix with an enterprise-wide platform, from which the business can improve process efficiency throughout the procurement lifecycle and gain greater control and visibility of its organisational spend.

Anthony Bowdidge, head of procurement at Weetabix, said: “We selected Wax Digital because of the company’s wealth of experience delivering software and services to enterprise organisations. The web3 product is highly intuitive and its advanced supplier collaboration features will drive significant process improvements across our supply chain.

“As part of the transformation of procurement within Weetabix, the web3 e-Procurement solution will meet our vision to utilise best in class systems and procedures to deliver value across the organisation,” he added.

The project is due to commence later this month and go live is planned for November 2011.
