Future Group selects Cognizant for IT infrastructure services support to sustain growth

Future Group, India’s largest multi-format retail group, recently entered into a five-year, multimillion dollar IT infrastructure services engagement.

Under the managed services agreement, IT consultancy Cognizant will support more than 1,000 Future Group stores – including Future’s marquee names such as Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Central, Home Town, and eZone – across 85 towns and cities in India, as well as new stores opened in the future.

Besides providing service desk support, data centre management and network services support, the deal also covers last-mile IT infrastructure services support to Future Group’s growing network of stores, warehouses, offices and data centres.

Speeding up process agility

The systems integrator said it would implement an enterprise management platform to improve operational agility and drive business transformation for Future Group, alongside a ‘point-of-sale (PoS) lab’ to develop future instore technologies, including mobile and kiosks.

“Future Group has strongly aligned its business and technology practices to build a scalable architecture to support our high-velocity consumption business, and drive a unique consumer experience across a country as diverse as India,” said Parakh Dave, chief information and technology officer at Future Group.

He added that the deal would help Future Group “establish best-in-class service delivery processes, institutionalise industry-standard best practices, standardise operating environments and processes, improve operational agility, and drive business transformation”.
