UK supplier of premium sustainable fish and seafood with a turnover of £50m aligns systems with new BI software for unified approach

UK supplier of premium sustainable fish and seafood with a turnover of £50m aligns systems with new BI software for unified approach

New England Seafood’s current business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management (CPM) systems limit the production of the type of reporting or rolling forecasts critical to its business.

Data ‘silos’ and lack of aggregation have meant that it is using Excel as a bridging tool. Therefore, it has selected BOARD to enable it to align its systems and deliver a unified approach to BI and CPM in a single product.

Forecasting, planning and modelling in scope

Initially the implementation, carried out by Altius Consulting will focus on 12-24 month rolling sales forecast. Once complete, the BI vendor said the project is likely to extend to key account and production planning, historical analysis, reporting and profitability modelling.

Charles Noble, finance director at New England Seafood said: “As we made our way through a detailed review of the market for financial planning software, BOARD really impressed us with its clear user interfaces, lack of separation between planning and analysis functionality, and the relative ease with which we can administer the system in-house.

He added: “In choosing Altius to assist us in the implementation of BOARD, we were clear that we would be working with a team of proven experts who would take the time to understand the challenges within our business so that they can tailor the BOARD implementation appropriately. We look forward to completing the initial phase of the project and progressing to subsequent stages which will further improve our forecasting and BI capabilities.”
