SPAR wholesaler selects cloud-based business management system to save money and finance and trading efficiencies
Appleby Westward Group has signed a multi-year agreement to use the Atlas Universal e-business platform.
Provided by business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce and e-business systems provider Atlas Products International, the SPAR wholesaler will use the modular system’s cloud-based order management and invoice matching together with its electronic data interchange (EDI) and web-EDI capabilities.
It will also provide portal, web and invoice-matching functionality for more than 400 suppliers to Appleby Westward, which operates SPAR's regional distribution centre (RDC) for the South West of England.
Targeting efficiency improvements
Nigel Taylor, Appleby Westward trading director, stated: “We were impressed with Atlas’ combination of expertise in e-business and the retail supply chain.”
Appleby Westward currently serves 290 SPAR stores in the UK. SPAR records 12 million transactions a week throughout its stores across the UK.
Tony Gummow, Appleby Westward finance director, added: “We are confident that the Atlas solution will deliver significant cost savings and operational efficiencies to our finance and trading functions.”
