Speciality US retailer sees investment as a platform for future growth to improve service delivery to stores and omnichannel customers
Pets at Home, the largest retail chain in the UK for pets and pet care products, has selected JDA Warehouse Management to support its continuing growth and improve service delivery to its stores and omnichannel customers.
Pets at Home provides pet food, pet-related products and accessories, along with tips and advice to keep pets healthy and happy through its more than 350 stores across the UK.
Business diversification prompts investment
The retailer's ageing warehouse management system (WMS), coupled with its recent acquisitions into the equine and veterinary sectors, prompted the decision to improve its WMS to support its continued growth as an omnichannel retailer.
"As one of the leading specialty retailers in the UK, we believe it is important to make strategic investments to continue to improve the level of service we provide to our customers," said Phil Hackney, logistics director for Pets at Home.
"The JDA warehouse management system gives us a platform for future growth that will enable us to improve service levels, lower distribution costs and give us the flexibility to integrate any future acquisitions."
