Private cloud-based video conferencing to improve collaboration across corporate offices across the UK, reducing costs and increasing business efficiency

SPAR UK recently selected the real-time Scopia collaboration system from Avaya, delivered via the cloud and provided by the communication provider’s partner Videonations, to increase the company’s efficiency across seven business units.

The retail convenience store business sought a reliable, scalable, collaborative video system to ensure that employees of all seven business units were able to communicate effectively without loss of time in travelling. The business units previously used basic teleconferencing systems, which was inefficient and ineffective for collaboration and required executives to travel to have face-to-face meetings instead.

Integration and ease of use essential

The company therefore evaluated several video conferencing different systems, but ultimately sought a system with strong integration and extensive capabilities to ensure ease-of-use and cross-unit collaboration, plus the ability to scale with a hosted platform as adoption.

“The combination of Avaya’s industry-leading video solution, which allows SPAR to have multiple connections in high definition to each of our seven business units, using the cloud-based, hosted platform from Videonations, made the decision process easy,” stated Roy Ford, IT controller for SPAR UK.

“The ease-of-use of the Scopia system ensures that our adoption curve will be more easily managed than with other solutions, and we expect our use to grow as the system beds in at SPAR.”
