By Retail Technology | Wednesday February 19 2014

Upcoming London retail technology trade show offers retailer attendees practical workshops with hands on advice on every key element of e-commerce

Retail Technology Business Expo (RBTE), Europe’s fastest growing retail IT trade, show is pulling out all the stops for its e-commerce retail visitors with the newly launched e-commerce Bootcamp.

Attendees to these highly practical workshop sessions for retailers have the opportunity to get hands on advice on every key element of e-commerce. The objective is for delegates to learn about a subject and then be able to go away and implement what they have learnt.

The sessions are designed to inspire and delegates will go back to the office ready to invigorate their colleagues and provide them with valuable insights and a practical plan of action. And the programme has been constructed with the guidance of the e-commerce experts from the RBTE steering committee.

Industry experts with specialist knowledge will lead each session, sharing years of knowledge in one comprehensive session, so that attendees can avoid the pitfalls and reap the benefit of their wealth of experience.

The sessions will kick off with e-commerce search experts from SLI Systems, who will tackle ‘Customer attraction and retention – tactics and advice on how to attract visitors to your site, keep them there and turn browsers into buyers’.

Supply chain, omnichannel and marketing

Retail software provider Celtech will explore ‘Real time stock and fulfilment – how to ensure product is available for customers at the point of order and make sure the order can be fulfilled, avoiding disappointment.’

‘Your omnichannel customer platform – the cross channel experience’ will be covered by customer engagement software specialist eGain, while customer review portal TrustPilot will take on ‘Social – how to effectively use social media to build an audience AND convert them to sales’.

Content management and hosting services provider Red Technology will be leading a session on ‘Interactive marketing and personalisation – love your customer without freaking them out! From email marketing to SMS,’ followed by cloud-based business management software firm NetSuite, who will reveal all on ‘Global expansion – what you need to know to take your business international and how you can do it’.

‘Data – customer data is coming at you from every angle. How can you manage and exploit your data effectively’ will be covered by predictive analytics provider Clear Returns, and the programme will be rounded up by electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) firm VeriFone, with ‘Checkout and payment – smooth transactions and ensuring customers trust your website! And how to reduce basket abandonment’.

The e-commerce Bootcamp is free for retailers to attend, but pre-registration is required. RBTE will be held from 11 to 12 March 2014 at London’s Earls Court.
