Tesco goes Extra interactive

By Retail Technology | Friday August 11 2017

Tesco is to rollout interactive digital kiosks at 140 of its Tesco Extra stores in the UK

Evoke Creative has won the £1.2M contract to design and supply an initial 250 kiosks.

Dubbed 'Call-a-Colleague' by Tesco, the new kiosks will allow shoppers to view high ticket tech products and alert staff from the relevant department to assist with further information, a demonstration and ultimately a purchase.

Evoke worked with Tesco to design bespoke units for its brand. The kiosks are dual-sided: the front allowing customers to browse and select products, the rear operating as a ticket system for staff to view the list of customer queries.

Importantly, the kiosks are also modular and futureproof in keeping with the nature of the project which demanded a flexible and adaptable design; allowing Tesco to monitor the units' usage as the initial stores go live and make changes as they see fit.
