Walmart abounds AI worker certification

By Retail Technology | Monday September 8 2025 | UPDATED 07.09.25

Walmart has partnered with OpenAI to develop a customised AI certification program for its frontline and office-based employees

The certification course will be available in 2026 while employees currently have access to some AI-related training through its Live Better U education benefit.

Walmart US CEO John Furner said: “By bringing AI training directly to our associates, we’ll enable our people to maximise the benefit of AI-powered technology — giving them the skills they need to rewrite the playbook and shape the future of retail.”
