E-commerce lingerie firm streamlines fulfilment process with new systems, and benefits from increased service response

Figleaves.com went live with MetaPack earlier this month to increase their delivery options and streamline their fulfilment process.

It uses MetaPack as a ‘black box’ behind their ‘COM’ system, which makes a call via an application programming interface (API) once an order is scanned. The consignment is then automatically allocated to a carrier within MetaPack and the label image called back by figleaves.com’s system to be placed on the invoice. This allows it to print a single piece of paper with all the details of the order and delivery, including returns label, on its own stationery. Customer Services then log in directly to the MetaPack system for order tracking and delivery updates.

Enhancing “exceptional” service levels

Mark Patterson, supply chain director at figleaves.com, commented: “Over the years figleaves.com customers have come to expect an exceptional level of service, with on-time delivery being high on the list. Now they are also expecting a choice of delivery locations and with improved online tracking.

“MetaPack is a key factor in delivering this, in a simple and cost effective way for both our customers and ourselves. It allows us to route parcels to the most appropriate and cost effective service and makes new carrier integration simple. In fact, MetaPack compliance is now a key requirement in consideration of any new carrier service.

“Implementation of the first stage of MetaPack has gone smoothly and we now look forward to extending the reach of the system within our website and back office systems, delivering service improvements and cost reductions," he concluded.
