Torex becomes an official retail patron of the UK’s leading youth charity

Torex, the global provider of integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace, recently announced that The Prince’s Trust is now its official charity partner.

Torex joins The Prince’s Trust’s Retail Leadership Group (RLG), supporting the UK’s leading youth charity, which focuses on finding training, employment and education for some of the UK’s most vulnerable young people.

As part of the RLG, Torex staff can participate in annual fundraising activities and international challenges organised by The Prince’s Trust, as well as running their own ad hoc fundraising events for the cause.

Alongside taking part in fundraising efforts, Torex will also work directly with disadvantaged young people to help them achieve their goals. There is a strong local connection with the organisation, for example, since the start of the year, The Prince’s Trust has helped 33 young people in the Exeter region, and 26 young people have been through the Team programme, a personal development course, in the Bolton area. Torex has important business operations in both of these locations.

Active involvement backs commitment

Steve Rowley, Torex chief executive, explained: “We have decided to work with The Prince’s Trust as our charity partner not only because it will provide us with the opportunity to help disadvantaged young people in the UK, but also because there is an opportunity for us all to get actively involved with the charity in many ways. This partnership is integral to our company values. We plan to make it a long-term commitment and anticipate working with The Prince’s Trust for many years to come.”

Georgina Morrisroe from The Prince’s Trust, commented: “We are delighted to announce that Torex has become the newest patron of The Prince's Trust and has joined the Retail Leadership Group. The RLG is the leading corporate social responsibility initiative for companies and individuals from UK retailing and their presence and support as a member of the group is very welcome. To date, The Prince’s Trust has helped more than 600,000 young people and continues to support 100 more every working day. The efforts of our corporate supporters are extremely valuable to this work.”
