Content delivery technology enables e-commerce sports retailer to expand overseas reach
Global content delivery provider CDNetworks has announced that it has entered into an agreement with online sports retailer, Wiggle.
Based on CDNetworks’ Web Performance Suite, the agreement provides Wiggle with improved website security and performance, as it looks to better serve its overseas customers. Wiggle ships bikes, as well as cycling and triathlon apparel and equipment, to more than 70 countries worldwide.
The agreement means that the majority of Wiggle's shoppers are able to browse the site in their own language and currency, with payment possible in US dollars, Euros, Yen and Danish and Swedish Kroner. It also enables the retailer to maintain its consistent and high-quality shopping experience through accelerated page load times, ordering and transactions.
Local operation, global service
“As we capture new customer bases around the world, the only way to compete with domestic offerings is to ensure that we are equally as fast in our ability to serve our customers," said Aidan Fitzpatrick, IT director at Wiggle.
"With the e-commerce market expanding year on year, the ever increasing proliferation of online businesses means that we have to have technology that works harder to keep us ahead of the competition."
