Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions 2012 to showcase the latest industry developments

 

Organisers of Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payment Solutions 2012, Europe’s fastest growing retail show, have promised to dazzle visitors with a vast array of innovation on display.

 

In addition to more than 300 exhibitors who will be showcasing a wide range of solutions and services, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payment Solutions 2012 will see the launch of the ‘Innovation Showcase,’ which will provide the most innovative organisations in the retail industry with the opportunity to showcase their products as part of the show’s free entry.

 

Raising the exhibition bar

 

Exhibits in the Innovation Showcase will be selected by the events’ Steering Committee, ensuring that only the very best cutting-edge innovations are put in the spotlight. Visitors will be able to see the products in action, and put them through their paces.

 

Nick Field, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions event director, said: “The feedback from visitors to our launch event in March was great. But a number of the retailers who attended said ‘we want to see more innovation’. We aim to please, and that’s why we’ve launched the Innovation Showcase at Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions 2012. The Innovation Showcase will provide businesses with a unique platform to show off the most out-standing solutions, and we can’t wait to see all the innovation that’s out there.”

 

As well as launching the Innovation Showcase, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions 2012 well also be home to another ‘first’ in the retail event arena, with the announcement that Pecha Kucha is coming to the show.

 

Innovative presentation format

 

The Pecha Kucha seminar will challenge speakers to present 20 slides, with each slide presented in 20 seconds, so each presenter has just six minutes and 40 seconds to explain their ideas. Pecha Kucha draws its name from the Japanese term for the sounds of ‘chit chat’.

 

Field continued: “Our visitors told us that they love the Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions seminars. But they like them to be independent and not vendor sales pitches! But they do really do want to hear from smart innovative solution providers too but in a different format. Thus Pecha Kucha! It is a vendor theatre with a difference and free of charge to participants.”
