New contract to manage coupon programme extends 18-year relationship

New contract to manage coupon programme extends 18-year relationship

Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s today announced it has signed a new long-term contract with UK coupon and voucher services provider Valassis to manage its coupons and vouchers.

The new agreement between Sainsbury’s and Valassis extends an 18-year working relationship between both companies. The provider is responsible for managing the coupons and vouchers that pass through Sainsbury’s tills each year, across its 1,000 stores nationwide.

Valassis designed a bespoke web-based coupon campaign management solution for Sainsbury’s called PromoHub.

Centralised promotions management

The supermarket uses PromoHub for Nectar loyalty card offers, coupon-at-till promotions, direct mail offers and Sainsbury’s specific supplier funded coupons. Other key promotional partners of Sainsbury’s can also access this coupon management hub.

The provider said it will continue to deliver a range of other coupon and voucher support services including courier management, data capture, reconciliation, financial recovery and reimbursement, management reporting and account management to Sainsbury’s.

Andrew Mann, director of customer insights and loyalty for Sainsbury’s, stated: “Valassis has been an important coupon partner for a number of years. The decision to extend our relationship is the result of their past performance in conjunction with a commercial review of the market place.”
