New e-commerce platform enables printer ink specialist to sell direct to consumers online

New e-commerce platform enables printer ink specialist to sell direct to consumers online

Cartridge World has this month launched a brand new e-commerce platform within its existing website, allowing customers to buy its printer cartridges online for the first time.

Building out multichannel strategy

Three new services are available at selected outlets across the country: ‘same day delivery,’ where customers can order online before 12pm and receive their printer cartridges the same day, ‘click and collect,’ which allows customers to buy printer cartridges online and collect instore and a ‘free postal delivery’ service.

To accompany the e-commerce launch the UK printer cartridge specialist is aiming to make buying printer ink online is made even easier thanks to its ‘Printer Detective’ app. The free Java application sits within the Cartridge World website and can be used to scan the customer’s computer and determine which printer they have in order to identify which cartridges are most suitable.

Online supported by local store network

John Richardson, Cartridge World UK chairman, stated: “As a company, we’ve invested a lot of time and effort in developing the e-commerce services. In an age when most items can be bought electronically, we were keen to make our printer cartridges readily available online for our customers. This online capability is supported by excellent quality products and a local service provided by our store network.”

He added: “The ‘Printer Detective’ is a great piece of software which will make our customers’ lives easier, as it shows them exactly which cartridges they need to order. We wanted to make the e-commerce journey simple from start to finish and the ‘Printer Detective’ more than plays its part in that.”
