Coop Forum Torp implements ColourZone epaper displays to streamline store operations

Coop Forum Torp in Sweden has installed ZBD ‘epaper’ electronic shelf-edge label (ESL) displays and Breece System epaper platform from its Nordic partner, Delfi Technologies.

Coop Forum Torp köpcenter in Uddevalla has implemented 13,000 of ZBD’s fully graphic epaper displays, which display price and product information. Each of the displays has been customised with a yellow ‘zone’ to highlight the price per kilo/unit, which is set against a yellow background as a legal requirement in the Swedish retail market.

Compliance and provenance information

As well as providing operational cost savings, the fully graphic capabilities of ZBD’s ESL displays can provide more information at the shelf edge, including quick response (QR) codes and logos such as the European Union (EU) organic farming logo and the keyhole symbol, which has been adopted by Nordic countries to highlight healthy products.

“I’m proud that Coop Forum in Uddevalla is the first store in Sweden with Breece epaper. It is part of our strategy to use innovative tools to streamline and future-proof the daily store operations,” stated store Peter Nordman, manager of Uddevalla’s Coop Forum Torp.

David Morgan, senior vice president of global sales at ZBD, said that the installation demonstrated the broad application scope of the epaper system. “With almost 300 stores in Scandinavia using our system, this contract marks yet more firsts for ZBD: our first installation in Sweden, and our first full store using yellow ColourZone displays,” he added.
