Intelligent Capture system to increase operational efficiency within High Street baker’s accounts payable and maximise existing investment

The UK’s leading bakery retailer, Greggs has chosen document and data capture specialist, Image Integrators, to implement an advanced, Intelligent Capture (IC) solution for the processing of over 200,000 incoming purchase invoices.

Following a finance modernisation programme and move to shared services operations, Greggs explored further automation as a means of improving efficiency and increasing document control and transparency.

Automation plus integration prove crucial

After evaluating a number of document management and data capture vendors, Greggs decided that the Image Integrators’ IC system was the strongest to automate the existing manual, paper based accounts payable process.

“Image Integrators showed a genuine interest and passion for our processes,” said Richard Milsted, purchase-to-pay manager at Greggs. “They took the time to understand the existing processes and what we wanted to achieve, coming forward with recommendations that showed real process knowledge and an understanding of how to get the most from our existing CODA Neon solution.

“The Intelligent Capture solution we will be adopting is also highly scaleable and will help us further automate the Accounts Payable process, as well as other processes at our Shared Service Centre,” he added.
